Cigars and tobacco pipes are only permitted at the above outdoor smoking areas. Cigar smoking is permitted only in a specific designated area on each yacht. Virgin Voyages provides various designated smoking areas around their ships. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on stateroom balconies. Guests who violate this policy will be charged a $250 USD cleaning fee and may be subject to further action.

If you are caught smoking outside in a nonsmoking area, you will be asked to move to a smoking area. If caught smoking in your cabin or cabin balcony, you will be told to stop and charged a "cleaning fee" (typically $200 to $250). For safety reasons, parents and guardians must give consent within the app for guests 12 years and younger to activate onboard chat. Upon purchasing Bottomless Bubbles, a sticker will be placed on the guest's Sail & Sign® card. In all areas where beverage service is offered, guests may show the Bottomless Bubbles sticker and receive a glass of the carbonated soft drink of their choice.

On Princess Cruises ships, passengers can smoke only in designated areas, which include cigar lounges, certain corners of the nightclub and the smoking section of certain outside decks. The casino is mostly a nonsmoking area, but smoking is usually allowed while playing specific slot machines — except on non-smoking nights. All smoking, including vaping and e-cigarette use, is prohibited in cabins and balconies.

They will be assessed a $500 charge, per violation, on their Sail & Sign® account. Information on this charge is included in Section 8 of Carnival’s Cruise Ticket Contract. The assessment of this charge does not allow a guest to continue smoking in his/her stateroom. If a guest is found to be in violation of our smoking policy, all guests in the stateroom may be disembarked from the vessel and risk not being allowed to sail on Carnival in the future. Guests will be responsible for all financial charges and expenses to return home, and no refund of unused cruise fare will be provided. Indoor areas on Cunard ships are non-smoking except in designated sections. Azamara also prohibits smoking on the land tour portion of all cruise tours, including the use of electronic cigarettes. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas on American Cruise Lines ships.

Passengers who have recently recovered from COVID within three months of their sailing date are exempt from pre-cruise testing. The exemption criteria require the recovery to be at least 10 days past the infection with no symptoms. Instead of a test, passengers can submit a letter from a healthcare provider stating their recovery. However, the letter must meet specific requirements outlined by Carnival. However, it’s important to note that masks are still required in the casino, except when smoking or drinking a beverage.
